  • What is a good PDA to use so I can get on to the internet while chasing???
I'm fairly new to this stuff so can someone help me?

I only wanna spend like $300 tops.....

  • Well it depends, if you use the wifi, then in many places it is free. Other places charge a small fee per hour or day. What you won't have is cell phone like coverage with wifi.

If you get a cable for connecting it to a cell phone and using that data service, then you will have your standard cell phone charges.

Ok thanks I pretty much understand this now.

  • I have a Treo 600 with AYCE data from Sprint. I average about 100K speed, varying with signal strength.

Radar images, etc, have been very fast loaders, though the Treo 600 is definitely not within that 300$ price range.

Though for those who are about to drop about twice that, give it a try. I have found I cannot live without it now.

  • That looks like an older model... my suggestion is to find one with built in wifi instead of a wifi card... that way you have more options for expansion... such as GPS or storage :)

    Try:

  • Go for a PocketPC (or something like it) instead of a PDA, you can do more with it.

  • I was checking out this one on ebay...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dllViewIt...5709940620&rd=1 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dllViewItem&category=38330&item=5709940620&rd=1)

  • Audiovox 2032 Thera is another option

I got mine brand new in the box off ebay for 120 bucks. Is also a cell phone, useable on verizon wireless and sierra wireless. I love it so far, had it for about 3 months.

  • I love the Dell Axim with built in wifi. I also purchased a cable from www.thesupplynet.com to add connectivity in the sprint network... although that has since decreased since wifi is getting so widespread :))))

  • T-Mobile has the Sidekick, I have seen this and its very nice. This runs $249 + TAX and a monthly fee/contract. Not sure of the service area though.

    Sidekick: http://www.t-mobile.com/products/images.as...95184&class=pda (http://www.t-mobile.com/products/images.asp?phoneid=195184&class=pda)

EDIT: Here is the coverage map for Sidekick:

Actually looks like a good deal to me - $29.99/month gets UNLIMITED data transfer/usage - No more time restrictions or file size limites.
